In 2017, Dr. Salo became the Medical Director at Hotel California by the Sea. Dr. Salo utilizes his comprehensive psychiatric knowledge, diverse experience, and genuine warm caring nature to direct and implement the best evidence-based practices for the treatment of our clients at Hotel California by the Sea.

Dr. Salo has exclusively devoted his professional practice to helping individuals suffering from the disease of addiction, substance use disorders, and mental health conditions. Dr. Salo is passionate about helping our clients achieve and maintain long-term sobriety and become the very best version of themselves in all aspects of their life, physically, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally.

Dr. Salo obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Bringham Young University. Afterwards, Dr. Salo participated in a two-year volunteer mission in Santiago, Chile, where he gained a fluency in Spanish. Upon his return, he earned his medical degree from the Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Thereafter, Dr. Salo completed his Psychiatric residency at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine in Las Vegas, where he also served as chief resident in his final year. Dr. Salo was born and raised in California and currently resides in Orange County with his family.
