Garry Troxell is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, Level II, and a Certified Clinical Supervisor with CAADAC. He has worked in the field of recovery for over 27 years. Garry did his internship at the Claudia Black Center in Cerritos, CA. from 1992 to 1994. He received his credentials in 1994 after completing the Alcohol & Drug studies program at Saddleback College. He was the original owner and founder of Seacliff Recovery Center in Huntington Beach, CA. After 8 plus years there Garry decided it was time for a change and moved to Malibu where he pursued a career in Counseling, Equine Therapy and music. He has had the privilege of working with professional athletes, actors and professional musicians and their families in need of recovery and healing.
In 2013 he provided an Equine workshop for the UCLA women’s volleyball team which went on to an NCAA championship. He was instrumental in the design of the family program at the Canyon in Peace Park in 2006. He has been a Certified Equine Assisted Counselor for over 12 years. In 2010 Garry received his credential in Clinical Supervision. Program design and “being on the front lines” with clients and their families is his passion. He also enjoys teaching counseling to students and supervising newer counselors in career development. Garry met Carl Mosen over 20 years ago, and became part of the team at Hotel California by the Sea this year.
