Inpatient Drug and Alcohol Rehab Center Treatments
Hotel California by the Sea recognizes that not every patient is the same. Some clients suffer from co-occurring mental health conditions, while others enter treatment with immense trauma. No matter who you are, there is a place for you at Hotel California by the Sea. Please take a look at some of our following specialized addiction treatment programs tracks:
Our Addiction Treatment Programs
Our highest level of care, Detox, operates under a licensed clinical team who are available for round-the-clock medical support. In this level of care, individuals are treated for about 5-7 days, depending on medical necessity and the drug or drugs they’re detoxing from. Our clinical team uses initial and ongoing evaluations to best determine Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) and medication management. Therapeutic services are also provided to patients in this level of care, such as individual therapy, case management sessions, and group counseling.
Partial Hospitalization (PHP) Treatment For Substance Abuse
PHP is an active intensive day treatment program (around 7 hours per day) designed for individuals typically transitioning from higher levels of care. Individuals may remain in this level of care for 10-14 days. However, some patients stay longer in this phase of treatment.
During this step in their recovery journey, individuals receive the same intensive therapeutic interventions as residential treatment. However, at the end of the day, they return home or to a sober living environment. At this point, the client’s medication is no longer administered directly in a residential treatment setting. Still, support and accountability may be provided for them to take their medication compliantly and consistently.
This transition in levels of care offers clients the opportunity to apply the coping skills they learned in therapy in the less-structured settings of daily life. By introducing more freedom and less accountability over time, clinicians help clients mitigate their high-risk behaviors. Our team of treatment professionals may help clients develop a healthy relapse prevention plan based on their identified triggers and the severity of their cravings through our addiction treatment programs.
Residential Addiction Treatment (RTC)
Although a lower level of care, clients in residential treatment still receive round-the-clock support in a monitored setting and medication monitoring and management. In this level of care, our clinical team treats clients for approximately 20-30 days, depending on their progress and individual needs. In this phase, there is a greater emphasis on therapeutic interventions. The individual’s health may begin to improve, and the client may pass the acute withdrawal stage.
Along with individual psychiatry and psychology visits, there are family therapy, group therapy, and case management sessions. Group therapy topics may range from trauma/grief/loss processing to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), mindfulness exercises, and addiction/mental health education. Outside of therapy, clients are transported to outside support groups, 12-step meetings, and recovery-focused group outings.
Intensive Outpatient Treatment For Substance Use Disorders
IOP is a day or evening program (typically around 3 hours per day) designed for individuals typically transitioning from PHP or who have maintained sobriety for a length of time and have demonstrated an ability to execute actions of daily living (ADL’s), apply coping skills, exhibit medication compliance, and present at a lower risk for relapse. In this level of care, clients are typically treated for 15-30 sessions.
These sessions usually start out at 5 days a week. They are titrated down to 3 days a week or less for smooth integration into daily life. Clients in Intensive Outpatient are provided with individual therapy, psychiatry visits, and group therapy for continuing care. In this phase of care, there is a great emphasis on identifying an external support system or sober community. In this phase, it is essential to prepare individuals for greater self-sufficiency. They will not have intensive group therapy multiple days a week and daily access to a treatment team.
Outpatient (OP) And Continued Care For Addiction
Outpatient is the lowest level of care intended for individuals who have demonstrated a higher level of insight into their recovery process, evidence of applied coping skills, and have a lessened risk for relapse. Individuals remain in this phase of recovery for any length of time, depending on their medical necessities. Insurance authorization is typically not required for this level of care, but this depends on the patient, the plan they carry, and their specific treatment goals.
Sessions in outpatient care are usually 1-2 days per week or less depending on the recommendation from a patient’s treatment team and the person’s individual’s needs. In outpatient treatment and continuing care programs, clients continue to see the same therapist, counselor, and psychiatrist while remaining connected with the alumni or graduate community of the addiction treatment programs.
Our gender and age-specific programming is a well-established multi-disciplinary program designed for those struggling with an addiction to drugs or alcohol, mental health disorders, or co-occurring conditions such as anxiety and depression.
Although there are many similarities between men, women, and young adults struggling with addiction and mental health conditions, there are also significant differences that our addiction treatment programs address for these populations. These differences range from the biological effects of abusing substances to social and familial repercussions, impact of substances on one’s body, and, eventually, the client’s treatment plan. Admissions to all programs require a clinical assessment to determine what treatment location and level of care are most appropriate for our patient.
