why us

At HCBTS, we created many exclusive programs, such as our monthly family education program, career and resource program, and transitional living home network, based on a few understandings regarding addiction recovery:

1- Treatment must address the whole person. To recover from addiction, clinicians must address clients comprehensively and without leaving one area of their life neglected.

2- Addiction is a family disease. Family and community is an integral part of recovering from addiction; recovering from addiction means forming new and healthy bonds, mending broken relationships, and strengthening someone’s entire family unit.

3- Getting sober is about more than just quitting drugs or alcohol. Sobriety is about more than just quitting drugs and alcohol; it’s about rediscovering who you were before drugs and alcohol affected your life, discovering new parts of yourself, and pursuing your wildest dreams. Whether this means

Though our experience and success lies helping clients get and stay sober, these understandings helped form exclusive programs that have changed the lives of thousands of people.

The disease of addiction often affects every area of a person’s life. Whether it’s current or pending legal issues, occupational consequences, educational goals, or issues with family, we offer assistance and education in these areas as part of our client’s treatment.

Monthly Family Program

Hotel California by the Sea, Cincinnati offers a free and comprehensive monthly family program that addresses clients, their loved ones, and the relationships they have with their loved ones. HCBTS’ monthly family program is for clients and their family members who are 16 years old or older.

Our licensed clinicians believe that a holistic approach to addiction is necessary to treat our clients, which is why we find it vital to engage their family and loved ones in their treatment.

Addiction is often referred to as a “family disease”. The roles that family members and loved ones play in the addict or alcoholic’s life are often enmeshed and muddled by the time one’s addiction has advanced significantly. Codependency and the resulting enabling behaviors that tend to form between family members in these sorts of relationships can often wreak havoc on the well-being of all involved.

When our clients and loved ones partake in our family program, we guide them through new communication skills as well as boundary-setting skills that are vital to healthy relationships. While under the guidance and support of the client’s therapist, insight into addiction is provided and family bonds are restored.

We help family members find local resources and support groups in their home area so that while their loved one is in treatment for addiction, they have support back home. Our family program is paramount to long term success for our clients. With the education, resources and insight provided in our family program, both our clients and their loved ones have the tools to continue building a healthy relationship even after treatment has ended.

HCBTS addresses not just clients, but their loved ones, their social environment, and their future relationships.

Outpatient Transitional Living Homes

As our clients advance within our program structure, they will eventually require a healthy living environment once they transition to our outpatient program in Cincinnati. Our transitional living homes exist as separate entities from our outpatient treatment programs. These homes are only offered to people in our outpatient programs and they provide an environment suited to meet all the needs our clients might have at this stage of their recovery. While still providing flexibility, sober living transitional homes still give clients the structure and accountability they need in early sobriety.

HCBTS’ outpatient program provides our clients with increasing privileges as they move through their treatment plans. Clients who are early in their recovery often experience trouble managing their impulses and emotions. The risk for relapse is highest in the earliest stages of recovery, so it is important to move through this process thoughtfully and cautiously.

To combat this, our outpatient transitional living homes maintain structure and accountability for our clients allowing the opportunity for independence and peer-support. These are important parts of recovery for anyone, so we do everything possible to cultivate a safe and supportive environment for our clients to grow as sober individuals. The unique features of HCBTS, Cincinnati, set us apart from other addiction treatment centers. We work tirelessly to ensure our clients have every opportunity to succeed in their journey to recovery. Our services are tailor-made to suit each client’s unique circumstances and needs.
