Xanax is one of the most commonly prescribed benzodiazepines in the US. In fact, over 30 million Americans are prescribed benzos each year with Xanax accounting for an estimated 16.7 million. It is FDA-approved to help treat symptoms of generalized anxiety disorder and panic disorder. Xanax is a controlled substance and can become highly addictive due to its ability to influence mood elevation, rapid onset of effects and its impact on the adrenaline system. Xanax comes in different types of formulations. A popular formulation is called Hulk Xanax. This green pill contains a high dose of the medication and is often sold on the black market containing a mixture of other dangerous ingredients such as fentanyl.

Green Xanax pills are often referred to as Hulk Xanax because of their high strength and their symbolic resemblance to the green comic book character. Green Xanax pills are prescribed for those who need a dose of 3mg or higher. This makes it a very high concentration of the medication. The real danger with Hulk Xanax is the illicitly manufactured versions which most often contain fentanyl, a dangerous opioid. The combination of the two can result in deadly effects.

What is Xanax and how does it work?

Xanax is the brand name for the generic drug alprazolam. It is used to treat anxiety and panic disorder. Some medical providers also prescribe it for off-label uses such as treating depression, insomnia and other types of phobias. The medication is only recommended for short-term use between 2-4 weeks.

Xanax works by increasing the amount of GABA chemicals in the brain. It binds to specific receptors in the central nervous system that can help stimulate feelings of calm, relaxation and sedation. When the brain produces more GABA chemicals, it slows down brain activity including the nerve signals associated with anxiety and panic.

Xanax is a fast-acting drug that can be metabolized within minutes and begin impacting the GABA chemicals throughout the central nervous system. The effects of the drug can be felt within the first hours. It produces immediate relief with peak levels where the drug is most concentrated in the bloodstream in about two hours after the initial dose.

Because Xanax is at a high risk of dependence and addiction, it is typically prescribed for short-term use only. Recreational use, abuse of the drug or long-term use of the drug can lead to withdrawal, addiction and overdose.

Hulk Xanax

Hulk Xanax pills are typically green and contain a high dosage of alprazolam. Other names for the drug include Green Monster Xanax, Greens, or simply Green Xanax. Hulk Xanax pills are available in different shapes and dosages. However, as referenced by the name, Hulk Xanax pills are more often than not a high-dosage formulation. In cases of counterfeit or illicit pills, they contain another highly dangerous ingredient such as fentanyl.

When it comes to counterfeit Hulk Xanax that may contain fentanyl, it can be up to 50-100 times stronger than morphine. A mixture containing a powerful opioid produces strong sensations of sedation and risk for respiratory depression, addiction and overdose. In addition to the added opioid, counterfeit Hulk Xanax can also contain unknown amounts of both alprazolam and fentanyl making it even more dangerous to consume.

Hulk Xanax pills are available in rectangular shapes, oval shapes, triangular shapes and even round shapes. The typical dosage ranges from 2-3mg but can vary. The oval green Xanax pill, often referred to as football Xanax, contains 1mg of alprazolam. The rectangle green pill is the most common and contains 2mg of alprazolam. The triangular pill contains 3mg of alprazolam. Some hulk Xanax pills are also formulated with an extended release making the effects of the drug last longer.
